 Is a bird a mammal or reptile?

Birds are not mammals but avians unlike mammals they do not have fur or hair instead they have feathers though sometimes they possess bristles on their heads or faces that resemble hair.


 How are birds and reptiles different birds have feathers can fly and are warm-blooded while reptiles have scales cannot fly and are cold-blooded. However there are similarities starting with the fact that both birds and reptiles have descended from dinosaurs both birds and reptiles descended from dinosaurs is there a bird mammal kiwi bird is the only bird species that is referred to as an honorary mammal this small bird is a mammal due to its habits behaviors and physical characteristics which are more similar to mammals than birds are amphibians reptiles reptiles include snakes turtles and lizards while amphibians include toads frogs and salamanders according to mass audubon one difference between reptiles and amphibians is their relationship with water frogs are amphibians they spend time on land but in their larval stage as tadpoles.


 They live in water are penguins considered birds like other birds penguins have feathers penguins are fish mammals or amphibians because they live in water on land or both penguins are birds even though they spend time on land and in water their motion in the water more closely resembles flying than the swimming motion used by other animals
